Muscle Activation Techniques is a revolutionary tool used in personal training as well as for bodywork or rehab settings. With this amazing tool, I use it for assessment of the body to see where there is limitation that may be causing “tightness” or pain or instability. After treatment, there are signs of stability and increased range of motion in a joint that was limited.
What to expect from an initial assessment:
1. Personal History
2. Present complaint
3. Explanation of what will happen
4. Assessment of Range of Motion
5. Muscle Testing
6. Treatment- Activation
7. Reassessment
8. Exercises to do at home will be prescribed based on assessment/treatment
Many times I will be asked how many sessions or how long the treatment will last. Sad to say that the answer is ALWAYS, it depends. The body has so many variables that it is very hard to say that a certain treatment will fix everything. So typically I tell my clients that it will vary between 4-6 weeks of treatments to get an overall better picture of what the root cause of the issue is. After the 4-6 weeks of seeing me once a week, we then go into every other week for treatment, then once a month, and then after that is just maintenance or if another issue arises from other factors. But my goal is always to get the client out of pain and not to see me for treatment anymore unless for maintenance.
